Chinmaya Naada Bindu (CNB) is a residential gurukul for Indian Performing Arts dedicated to fostering classical music and dance forms of India through education, research and performance. Inspired by the vision to propagate India’s Vedic heritage through the Performing Arts, CNB offers its students a nurturing spiritual environment in which to live and learn. CNB hones artistic excellence through world class training by exceptional residential and guest faculty, and celebrates the creative spirit through prominent performing arts festivals. It was a houseful program. The packed audience in the 3000-seater Shanmukhananda Hall (before reconstruction) in Mumbai, had assembled to listen to the queen of Devotional Music – M S Subbulakshmi, in the august presence of Pujya Gurudev, Swami Chinmayananda. This was back in the early 1980s.
